CR&T Announces the David L. Johns Family Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College
NEW YORK, July 14, 2008 – The Cancer Research and Treatment Fund, Inc. (CR&T) announced today that it has established The David L. Johns Family Fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology. This is a three year research fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College that will examine the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative disorders. The research will be conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Richard T. Silver, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Leukemia and Myeloproliferative Center at Weill Medical College of Cornell University and attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

The Cancer Research & Treatment Fund was founded in 1968 and leads the way in advancing the treatment of blood malignancies as well as breast, prostate, lung and colon cancers. CR&T is a non-profit group of physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals dedicated to research for the treatment of cancer and other blood diseases as the gateway to the cure for cancer. The Cancer Research & Treatment Fund has been a source of financial support for clinical cancer research at one of the world’s great medical centers, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center.
