About CR&T

 Who are the Young Professionals?

The Young Professionals are CR&T’s future -- young leaders and patrons who are passionate about finding a cure for cancer. We are:

  • professionals in the metro NY area from 25 to 45 years of age
  • members of numerous fields including advertising, publishing, finance, human resources, public relations, the arts, law, and medicine
  • a diverse group with a balance between males and females
  • generous volunteers

We are a group of people who are unified in our support of cancer research. Some of us have been personally affected by cancer. Others have had close family members stricken by these diseases. We all realize that we have a role to help find cures for cancers.

How can I become involved?

There are two ways you can support the Young Professionals. The first is by joining our Executive Committee. We are looking for people to help organize and produce our events, to develop relationships with corporate sponsors, and to brainstorm new concepts for functions. All we ask is that you attend our meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30. Join us!

We understand that not everyone has time in their schedule to commit to meetings and the minutiae of planning a successful event. If this is you, we always need people to attend and promote our events. Tell your friends and co-workers about CR&T and the great things that the young professionals are doing. We are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our ranks.

Events

Our events range from informal social get-togethers after work to educational events to our two marquee events: Chrismukkah in June and Cruise for a Cure.

Chrismukkah in June

What hospitalized child wouldn't love a visit from Santa in the middle of summer? Through our annual toy-drive, Chrismukkah in June, we provide just that. Each guest at our Chrismukkah in June donates a toy for a child undergoing treatment for cancer at New York Presbyterian Hospital. We serve as the elves that deliver the toys directly to the children in the hospital.

Cruise for a Cure

The Young Professionals' main event is an experience. Guests savor delicious food and drink while enjoying stunning skyline vistas on an evening cruise. Celebrity DJs, live bands, and a silent auction always make this an evening to remember.

Educational Events

This a unique opportunity to get your questions answered by leading cancer researchers. We are introducing informal presentations on prevention and other topics. Come join our researchers for a glass of wine, learn about the latest research, and get your questions answered. CR&T also holds regular symposiums on breast cancer and myeloproliferative diseases, and has highlighted colon cancer in past years.
