PS-341 Against Advanced or Metastatic Sarcomas NCI 1757: A phase-II, multi-institutional, open-label study of PS-341, a new anti-tumor agent that initiates programmed death (apoptosis) in cancer cells by interfering with their ability to degrade intracellular proteins. Patients with advanced or metastatic sarcomas are divided into two groups, depending on type of sarcoma, for evaluation of the drugís effect on each type. Patients receive PS-341 intravenously on days 1, 4, 8, 11, with courses repeated very three weeks in the absence of the diseaseís worsening or unacceptable toxicity. Consortium study 0902-450
