PROSTATE

HuJ591 Against Prostate Cancer
A phase-II trial of the monoclonal antibody HuJ591 in combination with low-dose subcutaneous interleukin-2 (IL-2) in patients with recurrent prostate cancer. Low dose IL-2 promotes the proliferation and enhances the secretions of all major types of lymphocytes, the class of cells that constitute an essential part of the immune system. Patients receive IL-2 daily for eight weeks and receive HuJ591 intravenously on days 22, 29 and 36. After eight weeks, patients with stable disease or those who respond to therapy are eligible for additional cycles.
